#GOTD alert: “Vertical Frenzy!” Lots of options with this exercise that you can use with your less experienced horses and riders teaching them striding from 5, 2, to 1s to the more advanced pairs working on their contact in the super angled lines (both directions) and beginning with the one strides from lowest to gradually raising the bar (pun intended 📷😉) testing the rider’s position to balance his or her horse in the line. *Remember that when building this correctly to be
Back by popular demand! #LÆtrainingvid number two #overjumps! Hopefully I explained every #GOTD and exercise clearly in addition to demonstrate the methods behind the meaning! Again this video contains the good, the bad AND the ugly! Many thanks to my clients for allowing me the privilege to train their awesome horses and my team for setting pole after pole despite the conditions! Enjoy #LÆsquad!
#GOTD 📷🚨 📷‼️ This awesome exercise was given to me by the great @flora_harris_eventing which really focuses on the horse’s RIDEABILITY between the fences! You’ll notice that I didn’t put a striding in between the crosses (which aren’t meant to be large) because that’s really up to the user. I went with a 4 stride to a 3 stride BENDING line (for added difficulty make sure to use the fence line and another boundary after each line) in my version of this exercise. Make sure t
This deceivingly simple jumping exercise hones outside rein effectiveness and the rhythm of the canter! I also like how supple the horses become at the end of the workout! I purposely did not add numeric distances as you have to first build from the circle out (had to play with it a time or two) and I made all of my distances one meter short! Make sure to watch the whole video to see the different variations you can ride in this little gem I created! Enjoy my friends! #LÆSQUA
Here’s an explanation in my own words of what I intended to teach in creating my last #GOTD. Many thanks to my Costa Rican students for their unyielding focus and efforts throughout the whole clinic! #LÆSQUAD (for added entertainment watch without volume first 📷🤣📷🤪📷😝)
#GOTD ALERT! The main focus here is the grid in the center with the X-vertical bounces but figured I would lay out the whole course for your added viewing/riding/entertainment pleasure. This grid focuses on straightness, teaching the horse to slowdown and to react off the rider’s leg to make the distance to the oxer all the while engaging the hind legs. The ride each direction over the grid gives a different feeling which makes it really fun and informative for both horse and
#GOTD 📷🚨 I built this grid for those of you who have limited access to jump standards, poles and arena space! This exercise is great for not only teaching your horse to move his feet more tactfully but also creates a lovely round shape over the oxers! What’s best is that you can ride this grid from both directions and although the feeling is slightly different each create the same outcome! The theory behind the “short” two strides (33 ft.) is to allow the rider to get to th
